Step 1: Cinnamon Buttermilk Drop Cookies
Ingredients:
- 1/2 cup solid butter-flavored shortening
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 1 egg
- 3/4 cup water
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1/2 tsp baking soda
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 3 Tbsp SACO Cultured Buttermilk Blend
Instructions:
Preheat oven to 400°F. Lightly grease cookie sheet. In large mixing bowl blend together shortening, 1 cup sugar and egg thoroughly. Stir in water and vanilla. In medium mixing bowl sift together flour, baking soda, salt and SACO Buttermilk Blend. Blend into creamed mixture. Do not overbeat. Chill dough. Drop rounded teaspoonfuls of dough, about 2 inches apart, onto prepared cookie sheet. In small mixing bowl, combine Topping ingredients and sprinkle some over each cookie. Bake 8 to 10 minutes, or until set, but not brown.
